See "How to Organize" below ⬇️
📁 HOW TO ORGANIZE YOUR SOUND LIBRARY
🎯 WHY ORGANIZE?
When you have 100+ sounds, you need folders! Otherwise you'll never find anything.
Professional filmmakers organize their sound libraries. You should too!
1
Create Master Folder
Finder → Documents → New Folder → Name it: "LEGO Sound Effects"
2
Create Category Folders
Inside "LEGO Sound Effects", create these folders:
📁 LEGO Sound Effects/
├── 📁 WWII/
│ ├── 📁 Gunfire/
│ ├── 📁 Explosions/
│ ├── 📁 Vehicles/
│ └── 📁 Ambient/
├── 📁 Clone Wars/
│ ├── 📁 Blasters/
│ ├── 📁 Lightsabers/
│ ├── 📁 Ships/
│ └── 📁 Droids/
├── 📁 Castle/
│ ├── 📁 Swords/
│ ├── 📁 Magic/
│ ├── 📁 Dragons/
│ └── 📁 Horses/
└── 📁 General/
├── 📁 Impacts/
├── 📁 Whooshes/
└── 📁 Footsteps/
3
Move Downloaded Sounds
Drag files from Downloads into the right folder
Example: explosion_001.wav → WWII/Explosions/
4
Rename If Needed
Give them clear names: m1_garand_shot.wav instead of audio_12345.wav
💡 PRO TIP:
Add this folder to your Favorites in Finder (drag to sidebar).
Then you can find it instantly when editing!
🎬 USING SOUNDS IN iMOVIE (Mac)
1
Open Your Project
iMovie → Your stop-motion project

Select sounds → Import Selected
3
Drag to Timeline
From Media Library, drag sound to timeline
Line it up with the action in your video
4
Adjust Volume
Select sound clip → Volume slider (above viewer)
Explosions loud, background sounds quiet
5
Layer Multiple Sounds
Add multiple sounds on top of each other!
Example: Gunfire + Shell casing + Ricochet = realistic battle
💡 LAYERING SOUNDS = REALISM:
- Explosion: Boom + debris falling + echo
- Lightsaber: Hum + swing whoosh + clash impact
- Dragon: Roar + wing flap + fire crackle
- Real movies use 5-10 sounds for one action!
